Friendly staff, excellent English. Nice common areas, large kitchen. Comfortable bed, clean sheets. Reasonably clean. Convenient location near train station. Nice foot-onsen nearby. Two buildings, one with kitchen and onsen. Comfy dorm with own bathroom. Easy to find and get to, highly recommended.

As hostels, the rooms are really good and clean and it's not far from the station or from the beach and there are the coin laundry and convenient store close by.
Difficult to find according to the map information on the booking web though it's actually not that far from the station; the map taken from the hostel after arrival is actually more useful and easy to follow

I had such a nice time at this guesthouse! the staff at Onsenyado Hamayu Nagi were super friendly and helpful, and they spoke excellent English. the common areas were really nice, especially the large kitchen. the bed in my room was really comfortable, and the sheets were impeccably clean. the location of the guesthouse was great, right near a 7-11 and Beppu Tower. I also loved the hot spring bath - it was so relaxing. it was really good value for money, and I would definitely recommend staying here. Cons: N/A.

Meet travellers from different places, reasonable budget accomodation with cooking facilities, friendly staffs who speak English. Triple Room has sufficient space for its price. Onsen spa in the hostel is a major plus.
Some interior deco work for the room is needed. Need regular fumigation on the tatami mat to ensure no spreading of bed bugs.

We got great value for our money at this hotel. The room was cozy and comfortable, with tatami floors and futon beds. The location was convenient, close to JR Beppu and the onsen. The staff were friendly and responsive, even when we messaged them in English.
The breakfast offerings could have been better, maybe more variety would have been nice.

Great hostel with minor flaws. Nice staff and comfortable atmosphere. Access to a kitchen is a plus. The onsen was enjoyable and a nice way to relax. The location is convenient, just a few minutes from the train station. The foot-onsen in front of the building was a unique and pleasant experience. a good quality stay for the price.
Some minor issues present. The bathroom in our room was not functioning properly, but we were able to use the onsen instead.

It was very cheap and easy to find. My room was very big, and the shared toilet was very clean. Good for day trip or backpackers.
There is no elevator so if your luggage is heavy, enjoy lifting it. I was also given a room at the side of the building where there was a hotel machinery that was on 24 hours 7 days a week which made my stay a little less comfortable. Though I'm a light sleeper. If you stay there ask for a room that isn't on the side next to the machinery.
